Padstow and its Traditions

Padstow, situated in the county of Cornwall, is often described as a harbour city on banks of Camel River. Being a coastal town, the city serves up some of the best and delicious seafood delicacies in England. In fact, tourists from all over the world come to Padstow to taste and sample the delicious seafood. Padstow is also renowned for celebrating certain Celtic festivals such as the 'Obby 'Oss Festival. The festival, which has its roots in ancient Celtic traditions, is primarily dedicated to the beginning of summer in the city. The celebrations starts from April 30th where the local people dress up in flowers and come together to sing a communal Night Song. After the song, the Obby Osses, who are dressed in black, move around town with accordion and drums and catch maidens. The festival continues with a Morning Song, which is sung on May Day. Tourists who are planning to experience the entire festival would definitely need a night to rest after all the festivities are over. Thus, the tourists can easily head over to the various luxury hotels in Padstow.
